Welcome to the Athletic Union

The Athletic Union (AU) is the organisation responsible for administrating all aspects of sports club activity at the University of Portsmouth. It comes under the umbrella of the Students’ Union from whom it receives funding to support the broard and diverse range of activities it offers to its members.

We are here to cater for the sporting needs of all our students, with 34 clubs and an excess of 2,000 AU members there is something to interest everyone. All clubs have an elected committee and collectively they come together to make up our AU Council.

All our clubs are student-run and student-led, providing students with the opportunity to learn skills that can be extremely useful in later life. This means that any success is down to the students although professional expertise is offered to the clubs, which results in a healthy mix of student/staff involvement.

 

 

 

Fixtures

Every week up to Easter you can experience a mass of home fixtures which allow our competitive sports to continue up the BUCS leagues and prove to other institutions it’s not easy to win on Pompey turf. Come along to the Langstone Campus, ST Pauls Gym or the Nuffield Sports Centre this Wednesday and be part of our spectator scene and enjoy the atmosphere which our athletes rely on each week to give them the drive for success.
