Fencing is a fast-paced, exciting and fun sport; why not give it a try?

UPFC is committed to making fencing accessible to students of all abilities. We have qualified coaches to train members from a beginner level and we also offer members various opportunities at competitive fencing.

Our coaches train members in all three weapons: foil, initially, but members may progress to epee and sabre if they wish.

All kit and equipment is provided free of charge, but we do offer members the ability to rent kit from the club.

Training Times, Venues and Team League Info

We do not hold trials – training is free for everybody. However, if you’re doing well and find yourself interested, even beginners are often accepted on our competition teams!

Every Wednesday and Friday, 8-10 pm
St Luke’s Sports Centre (PO5 4ML - near Portsmouth & Southsea train station)

Coach Information

We offer fully qualified classes and individual coaching in all three weapons (Foil, Epee and Sabre) – and we offer our members the opportunity to go and take coaching qualifications themselves.
