Join the Halls Executive Council (HEC) to have YOUR say!

Living in halls gives you a readymade set of neighbours, but to make the most of all that social potential takes a little bit of organising.

Nobody knows what students like better than, well, students. That’s why we put you in charge of talking to your flatmates about what they want.

Elections will be held at the end of October to form the council that will oversee all social activities, green initiatives, sporting face-offs, cultural events and equipment purchases throughout the year.

For each of the three campuses (Guildhall, Langstone, and Rees and Burrell) there are four positions available: President, VP Treasurer & Secretary, VP Communications, and VP Social Secretary.

The opportunity to be part of that group is there - all you have to do is decide which role interests you. Then turn up at the elections and tell people why you’d make a good team member, and get yourself voted in!

In return, you will be given a budget to run, facilities to use and a really good reason to get out and talk to people!

    Environmental Champions

As well as those positions above, we also need environmental champions to help raise environmental awareness. As well as putting forward your own ideas, you'll be promoting energy efficiency and encouraging recycling.

Our Environmental Ambassadors will be signing up Champions at the Freshers Fayre environmental stand and during kitchen visits in your first few weeks. See more information at: http://www.port.ac.uk/lookup/supportservices/hallsofresidence/greenissues/
