Your Union Staff Blogs - what we're doing in Portsmouth

Corollary: I've just seen this on our own website!

We've just finished our sabb residential and it's raised some questions about the structure of the union, or 'how the union works'. I think that everyone is reasonably clear about how it works in practice, but it's been tough to represent it in images.

We set the new sabb team a task of what they thought the structure of the union was and they had to put all of the committees / groups in order. This is what they came up with:

Exciting times!

The union has now officially registered as a charity with the charity commission and we've succeeded in being the first union in the country to do it! (the number in the title is our new charity number) Also, it appears that no other students' union has registered over the past two days, which is odd as I thought others would be clamouring to get registered too. However, our registration has generated some good media interest, so hopefully we'll get some good exposure from it.

Only a week left of term time!

Following my first two posts, I've taken some advice on this blog - "Don't be so boring!"

This time of year is full of exams, assessments, reports and awards! (Good luck to all those that started their exams on Monday!) No sooner than we finish hosing the AU Dinner, we also have our student activities awards coming up on the 3rd June.

In addition to us dishing out awards to students, the union is also entering a raft of nominations for various awards.
