Its nearing the end of January in the Students' Union and that means one thing, the opening of nominations for the UPSU elections! This year we are electing 6 Sabbatical Officers, 10 Student Officers and 2 Student Trustees, which means it is going to be huge election, and hopefully more candidates standing, more students voting and ultimatly the best election ever in the history of UPSU.

This is the first time in 5 years for me that I am not involved in the elections from a candidate point of view. In my 5 years I have been a proposer, scruitineer, campaigner and in the last 2 years a candidate! So its going to be nice this year to see the elections from a neutral perspective, and also interesting to be working as an election assistant.

Being a Sabbatical Officer for the past 2 years has been the most amazing experience of my life, and I would recommend it to anyone. Don't forget so long as you are a student you can stand for election as anything from President to a Vice President, from Black Student Officer to a Student Trustee.
