I couldn't write that title on the homepage of Pure FM as it's not 'PC' enough, but here it's my blog, thus my "opinion", it's amusing, although I have to say, I really hate the way that the Media (especially the Tabloids) blow a story to high heaven with over the top headline. Seriously, go and type "sachsgate" into Google... it's everywhere. Anyway, on with the post, below is an article that I wrote for Pure FM's Homepage, but figured that it'll be just as useful and interesting here.. plus here you can write your comments as well!

By now, anyone that hasn't had their head in the ground would have most likely heard about the latest BBC scandal, revolving around a pre-recorded segment on Russell Brand's show, on BBC Radio 2. We believe that as most viewers of this site, are radio enthusiasts we should do a little research, and bring the news straight to the front page.

Has blogging gone by the wayside? - Is it no longer cool to blog? - Does it take up too much time? I have noticed that there is definately less blogging going on in the new Sabb Team. I'm not sure why this is, but it's a shame, it was always amusing to find out what was on the mind of the sabbs, like trying to understand Ben Norman's view on the world, or just generally find out how much work goes on in the sabb office. It was good and useful when i could find out about Upcoming Events and Campaigns just from reading the blogs - one click from the homepage, nice and easy! This year there seem to only be three blogs from the "staff". One about Graduation, one detailing (and usefully explaining) Who runs what at the Union, and rather confusingly one about "Upcoming Events" but it goes to a different blog to the person who the front page says it's from! I'm having an on the spot wonder *NB: Not yet complete*... if UPSU staff (certainly all sabbs), now have these fancy new O2 mobile phones. These mobile phones, I'm lead to believe are very good at using the internet, (even for streaming flash videos!), could it not be possible to have more diary entries from the 6 people that we, as students elected. Passing thought:.. could we "Twitter them up", and have a twitter feed on the homepage "<name> is making tea in the sabb office". .. no?
Just some random thoughts.

Haven't used this blog recently! hmm... i see the blog page template is still a little broken (at the time of writing).
Anyway, on to the point at hand. I notice that the BBC have go and redesigned their TV pages, as part of the ongoing BBC2.0 Project. Anyway, have a look at the header design for the bbctwo tv page. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo) - notice anything similar about that and the new designs at UPSU. I can assure you that UPSU has had that styled font for way before these BBC pages went live. .. I wonder if the inner drop shadow is just a craze that everyone is going through, or whether there is some kind of link!? - who knows!
[PS. I forgot how difficult it is to use this blog system using Safari... I'll add an image and links in when I load up firefox a bit later!]..

A warning for any Microsoft geeks, who have already got a copy of Vista!! (and use their iPod!) Apple released a document yesterday warning Windows iTunes users to "steer clear of Vista until the next iTunes release". Apparently there are many security issues specifically to do with iPods, for example if you "Safely remove hardware" it will completely re-configure your iPod, songs don't work, etc, etc. For more info head over to Slashdot and read "this article" Also, if your are interested, Here is the official document put out by Apple yesterday. However, In the words of the Apple Advertising bosses. "Why upgrade to Vista, when you can upgrade past it?"

He is one of the many 'newbies' at the HSCB Waratah's, who are Lachlan Turner (Also one of last year's schoolboys, and former GPS Newington School boy), Jeremy Tilse (former Joeys boys), and just recently have added former Joeys and Aussie Schools captain, Patrick McCutcheon. Kurtley is currently in a spot of bother as a court has ordered him to pay $1500 for a drunken driving, without a license charge. For an offense he apparently committed about a month ago, in his home town of Mount Druitt. He will hopefully be the opening fly-half for the Waratah's game next weekend, as I didn't really see anything overly special about the player to opened today. "Han...." I forget his name. Kurtley is also a very high possibility for the France World Cup in the Autumn. With the Wallabies head coach, John Connolly, saying he is a high contender [to replace Stephen Larkham]. Watch this space!
