The Fire that wasn't
We were just sitting in the office going through our article tracking forms and Jacob the News Editor gets a phone call from Tom Worman our Design editor and Photographer informing us that there were lots of Fire Engines on Guildhall Walk. Jacob run out of the door closely followed by myself Tallie and our MAPO Alex Harries. When we got to the "Fire" we found out it was a training exercise but it was still interesting to watch. Taking photos of Fire engines is really hard because of the reflexive strips the flash makes them extra bright. The way round it I found out was to change the ISO on the camera and use no flash the added disadvantage was I had to keep the camera very still . See a related news report on UPSU for better pics by Alex.
This was one of my best ones it was a little dark so a bit of fiddling in photoshop made it better if a little grainy.
