The University's commitment against bullying

The University Policy of Equal Opportunities for students states "the University of Portsmouth affirms its commitment to fair and equitable treatment for all its students and all potential students. It seeks to encourage, support and value diversity in the student population”.

As such, the University will not tolerate the harassment, bullying and/or intimidation of one member of the University community by another. All members of the University, staff and students, are responsible for helping to ensure that individuals do not suffer any form of harassment.

It should also be recognised that such behaviour may be considered to be offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 or the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
