The NUS has called for a national demonstration in London.
Students this year are the first to pay up to £9000 in fees, local councils enforcing the Housing of Multiple Occupancy bill, dividing students and local communities, uncapped postgraduate and International fees are rocketing, 79% cuts to teaching budgets, EMA scrapped, record high numbers of youth unemployment, welfare support slashed...
We can not allow this assault on our education and lives to continue - we need to stand up and say no. If we don’t demand that politicians listen to us we’ll be ignored, so lets gather as many students as possible and join the NUS in London on Wednesday 21 November 2012 for #UPSU #demo2012!
The Student’s Union, at 7am on Wednesday the 21st of November; from there, we will travel to London and meet with tens of thousands of other students to march through past parliament to ask for a new agenda.
As a student, you can book on to one of our coaches to London with a £5.00 deposit which is refunded on your return.
You can also sign up with one of the Sabbatical Officers, either in office or out on campus, or in the Union welcome centre.
Non-students are also welcome but are not able to claim the £5.00 and must pay the full unsubsidised cost which is not refundable, this is also available online here.
