Social Life: it's not all work!

The Union has three bars in three venues:

The Waterhole

A chilled out place to have a drink, watch the big screen sports, get a tune or two from the jukebox, or enjoy a meal from our large menu, The Waterhole is open 11am to 2am almost every day.

Bar CO2

The smaller of the two upstairs rooms, Bar CO2 is the venue where you can hear everything from house and garage to RnB, hip-hop, disco, pop and more depending on the night. We've polished the line-up for CO2 this year and we're sure there will be something for you to come along and enjoy until the wee small hours!

Club Lux

This is the main room at the Union, and is also one of (if not the) biggest venues on the south coast! You might have some lectures in here during the day, but don't worry - at night everything changes and this is where the night really goes off, with our regular nights Purple Wednesdays and Fridays' Flat-rate Fridays, where it's all about having a messy-good time, and Saturdays' Flirt, where you can hear all the best chart and pop music until 2am.

It's not that we like to shamelessly name-drop, but Lux has seen the likes of bands like The Thrills, DJs Judge Jules, Carl Cox, Dave Pearce and John Digweed, nights from Bedrock, Pacha, Slinky and Ministry of Sound, celebs Pat Sharp, Katy Holmes, Neighbours' Joe Scully and Karl Kennedy, and more, so there's bound to be something on in here you simply don't want to miss, either!

You can also relax with a coffee during the day in the coffee shop, or grab a freshly prepared meal from the Waterhole.
