Current Campaigns
Campaign for an Islamic Prayer Space
This campaign calls for Portsmouth University to provide an out of hours Islamic Prayer room which is open in the evening when students need it. Currently the university provides excellent facilities in the Nuffield centre but the Nuffield closes at 5PM from monday-thursday and at 4:40pm on a Friday. This means that muslim students are unable to fulfill their religious obligations. This campaign is led by the Islamic society but is not just for Muslim students, it is for all students who believe that student welfare should be the universities' top priority.

By joining you can show you are against the growing privatisation of education, against spiraling student debt and for a fairer education system based on ability to learn, not the ability to pay.
