Now I admit i have watched BB in the past but of late it has become a bit tedious, however....u cant fail to have seen all the stuff in the news about the Jade, Jo & Danielle gang up on Shilpa (ok now i sound a bit geeky cos i know their names ) so wondered what everyones opinion on it was?
Personally i dont think they have been intentionally racist just a bit ignorant of her culture and we mustnt forget that the majority or comments have been coming from Jade Goody who isnt really renowned for her intellect (although you have to love her for complete lack of knowledge, lol).
Sooo...what do ya think?
(BTW i understand that most people are out havin fun so dont have time to watch BB but im a geek who stays in and does essays night after night!!)
Any comments welcome......................and begin!!!!

You know the whole thing is blown way out of proportion when it gets talked about in the House of Commons.
Lets step back here a second and realise a few facts that - while not pretty - are quite true.
1. Racism is not a new thing and if Jade was being racist, she certainly isn't the first (not that this makes it alright).
2. BB is a damn TV show, and a crappy one at that.
3. Therefore the massive amount of complaints/problems/media reaction are vastly overblown and seems to further the idea that people just love to complain about something, especially if it's something that doesn't fit in with the idea of political correctness.
For me, BB sums up everything that is wrong with this country. Idiots like Jade are awarded fame for being run of the mill, average and boring whilst great scientists and achievers are overlooked. We'd rather discuss a silly mistake that she made than focus on more important world issues. The media (and unfortunately it's papers like The Sun and the Daily Mail) are clearly in control of the populace.
Meh. |

Unfortunately, when you consider the maxim "there's no such thing as bad publicity", you begin to see just how cynical a marketing ploy this is.
Want further proof? Read what BBC News has to say about it:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6280957.stm
The key to the evil cunning of this "scandal" is that it even has those of us who absolutely detest BB talking about it. Wheel out Dr. Freud - this is going to be a long night... ;o)

Well that's the sad truth isnt it, though I hate the show, here I am discussing it.
That said it could also be argued that if only those who liked the show spoke up about it and those who hated it stayed silent - well then people might assume that there were no people who hated it! |

I have to admit i was quite sad when Jade went, felt a bit sorry for her. She was the only thing worth watching it for, bet theyve lost loads of ratings now!!!
P.S. Has anyone actually auditioned for BB??? Actually thats a silly Q, i mean whos gonna admit to that, lol......oh and no i havent, cant think of anything worse than living in a goldfish bowl!! |
