Just a question...
I Keep getting emails from candidates saying Vote Me & sending me their Manifestos etc. I havnt signed up anywhere to get these emails, so why am i getting them .... Surly there are rules about this as well?? |

I presume this is going to your uni email account? If so, it does not take a scientist to create a script to email all emails with XXX####@port.ac.uk (XXX is the 3 letters and ##### is the 5 numbers)
All that is needed is webspace, a SMTP server, and the script which personally would take 3 minutes to create. Leave it to excute - and hey prosto - your sending a tonne of emails to everyone if they like it or not. And as they would use 1 email an email address - it does not get blocked even by the most secure filters.
It is very annoying - but with rules there are some - unsocial emails, but that will come in effect IF they are using the port server - if they use another server, then you need to contact them.
Until then though - I know where the trash can is - I already made my decisions and Noone gonna stop me changing them!

Just to follow this up J_A, could you forward a complete message to me (with the headers if you have them) - admin [at] upsu.net
That said, there's no way those addresses came from the UPSU NUS database, but I will look into this myself.
