you should play more classics like queen and elvis and other disco stuff, some people would call them cheesy but i don't. only stuff like aqua is cheesy. have a disco night as well. |

Come down to the Beach Party tonight, I'll be droppping some of those student disco classics....while avoiding the aqua level of cheese. Should be a great night, games, inflatables....all the normal beach party fun.

Basically the Union music policy this year seems to be roughly:
Wednesdays: Purple Wednesday - classics all night long, from Rock to Trance its generally played here.
Fridays: Flirt - Dance music from start to finish, dont think i heard a single cheesey song last night
Saturdays: Mix of Dance through to student favourites later in the night.

I really like the music at the union at the moment. I think there is a good range and most nights there will be something that the majority of people like. you can't please everyone all the time! i don't mind dance music but if that is all that was playing i don't think i would go. its nice to have some variety! |

Couldn't be bothered to read this whole thread, so if i repeat anything thats already been said, sorry!
I say lots more dance music on fri/sat nites, you hear people complaining they dont like it but the answer to that is they blatently actually do. Do what Time does and put on some trance classics in the last 90 mins of the nite or so for some happy campers.
Some guest DJs would be good too, if the union events manager is reading this pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease look into booking Annie Mac cos she is absolutely awesome! Sounding off. |

I'm always open to comments about the music i play, but in the history of wednesday nights i have never played more than 5dnb tracks normally only 3 tops per night. The ragga is a hard 1 coz we have large folowing of students from london that come just for that every week. and the rest is hip hop and rnb now if you mean underground hip hop or uk hip hop, it just bombs have tryed but as 80% of the people would not know what the f$#@ i was playing it would not be good why dont you post some requests and ill see what i can do!

Im not at all the kind of person who has their ear glued to the ground when it comes to music, actually i loathe trends, but ive heard pretty much heard all those tracks that were mentioned so it wouldnt be a bad idea takin a risk a popping a few in just to see the reaction. But make sure you keep playing that JT!!! |

I'm a fresher and i've beeen to the union a total of three times, as have most my mates here. The main problem for me is the music! Dance and Cheese and a bit of RnB is NOT VARIETY. I totally agree there should be an alternative night, in at least one room where they should play indie, punk, rock, i think it would be appreciated by many! |

lala speaks the word of a very wise person. I say more of Rock and lessof RnB dance, its what they play every other club, why not be differnet for once eh? |
