Rite u lot are all saying how Jules is gonig 2 b at slinky but have u not thought how wicked Paul Oakenfold will be in a small veune? if he can do amazing things at global then think wat the atmosphere will be like in a smaller space AWESOME!
ben gold is playing too- nice one! ben is an amazing up and coming dj, son of graham gold who played perfected at the union a couple of years back ( and who is playing slinky tomorrow night btw) he will probably be as good as oakie
ben gold was quality at perfected and have just bought a couple of his new productions which are really good.
I have heard bad reviews on oakenfold up until recently as he seems to of gone back to his trance routes. so lets hope he plays a blinding dance set and stays away from pop.
oh yeah and hes quite famous for making that big brother tune and doing a number of movie soundtracks such as swordfish for those who dont know. Also I seem to remember him dj'ing at a high profile wedding for somewhere in the region of $1m but could be wrong on that one.
Do we have to have Joules again at the union? he was awful at TnE last year, dont know how he did in the union last year cos i couldnt get in.
Why dont we get in some Rave and DnB artists?
more than trance. I mean whats the deal with trance music? What is the appeal? Can someone tell me what makes it good?
Any news if we getting the lasers back at any of the freshers events?
I Notice Pendulum are playing a Live Band Set at a as yet to be confirmed venue in pompey. If the Union hasnt booked them, I will be very dissapointed. Would be a shame for Breakneck to steal them again.

There are loads of very good up-and-coming DJs who don't cost the earth and who play amazing sets, like the DJ warming up before Oakie - you might come for the headline DJ, but you'll usually find the DJs playing around them are great, too!
Trance music, like any kind of music, hits the right buttons for some (many!) people, so they'll no doubt tell you it's good for many reasons. My Dad might disagree, and so might you, but there's a great trance scene in this part of the country, and lots of really great trance nights which might help you see the genre from a trance-lover's point of view ;o)
Nice one on Oakie! Hopefully he's bucked up his ideas after the pop phase he went through!
Please say we've at least put an offer into Pendulum about playing here? They're playing loads of uni's, so they're obviously not stupidly expensive. If Southampton can get them, surely we can!!
ive been in turnmills before where they havent kicked everyone out till 9am!
all those interested in going slinky after oakies set is finished- for NUS holders slinky have now dropped their price to £10 in advance. tickets from withit and hands on records
Just a quick update and conformation regarding Oakenfold,
Paul Oakenfold will be doing book signings in the Union from 21:00 hrs on Friday the 12th and will then play a two hour set starting at 23:00 hrs, Prior to Pauls set Ben Gold will be playing a two hour set.
Due to the huge demand for tickets I've increased the number available by another 300 my apologies to anyone who has come in for tickets to be told we have sold out! Obviously by increasing the advance tickets this will reduce the number of people able to come through the door on the night.
Also for those of you who can't decide between Oakenfold and Jules, Jules will be here at Portsmouth in January
Absolutely quality night! Also get Ben Gold back for a night, he got the crowd going for Oakie so well! Would be good to have a regular dance/trance night at the union instead of just pop/indie/cheese/rnb
