Happy damned Shrove Tuesday! Even if the religion side of things doesn't interest you, the pancakes side should do.
You can find a basic pancakes recipe here (from the BBC), but here in the Union we're wondering:

Well, I picked up some flour on the way home yesterday, and there was a batter mix recipe on it that was a little different to my usual, so thought I'd give it a go - it uses 5oz of flour (I usually use 4oz), one egg, and 300ml of milk - don't know how that compares in volume to the usual 1/2 pt.
And I don't have any butter/marg, so I'm using walnut oil to make them in!
Come on over and have a try*!!

well going by my previous cooking experience im giving pancakes a miss this year...and probably every yr until i manage to bribe someone into cooking some for me!! |

At the sailing Club we had a fun recipe, add enough eggs, milk and flour until it looks kind of right, use a big spoon instead of a whisk and use way too much vegetable oil...... |

Frozen pancakes. 
I had Banana, Cornish ice cream chocolate ice cream, marshmallows, flake, 2 types of chocolate spicules and chocolate, strawberry and toffee sauce
