University of Chichester
This is one day of the year when the whole
of the Athletic Union joins as one and becomes ‘Team Pompey’, our rivals are
the University of Chichester who considering their size are renowned for sport
and if truth be told have a better record than we do. This years fixtures is
away but look out for opportunities to support ‘Team Pompey’ in their bid to
win the trophy a second year running. For some reason they absolutely hate us
(probably because we are bigger and better than them) which always makes for
heated affairs, something that the crowds defiantly like.
The Royal Navy
Portsmouth is proud to have such deep
history and heritage and as you will all know it is the home of the British
Navy. Every year we have a gowns verses uniforms day where we compete across a
range of sports against her majesties finest. To date Pompey has won every
event but every year it gets harder and harder. The games take place at HMS
Temeraire, the sports grounds just behind the Students Union, make sure you
come down and support ‘Team Portsmouth’.
