Who deals with motions and amendments?
The responsibility of the preparation, publication, ordering of motions and amendments for general meetings agendas is down to the General Secretary.
Deadlines
Motions must be submitted signed by a proposer and seconder who have to be full members of the union, they must also state their union card numbers and be handed to the general secretary by four clear working days before the meeting.
Amendments to motions require one working day before the meeting. EGM motions must be submitted by noon the day before. EGM amendments of motions is by one hour before.
Withdrawing amendments
A motion or amendment can only be withdrawn with the consent of the movers of the motion or amendment.
Conflicts with existing policy
You are only allowed to bring a motion conflicting with existing policy once in an academic term.
