Privileges of membership
What privileges do I get from membership?
As a member of the National Union of Students, you are entitled to the following privileges:
- Access to service and support facilities provided by the union.
- Able to use the social facilities offered by the union.
- Be able to join registered clubs and societies.
- Be able to participate in Union committees and clubs and societies
- Be able to participate in Union General Meetings, Trustee's meetings and Union Council Meetings.
- Be able to vote in all Union elections or referenda.
- Stand as a candidate for the majority of offices of the Union subject to election.
- Be able to act as a proposer, seconder or assentor of a candidate in such an election.
- Be able to admit one guest onto Union premises.
- Be represented by the Union on academic issues.
The privileges of the other types of membership can be found in the constitution in schedule one: "Conditions and Privileges of Membership", points four to six.
