Student Support

Hey, my name is Elle Gray and I’m your Student Support Officer. My main role is to
Look out for student’s welfare in all areas like housing, finance, sexual health, mental health and equality.

Run Union campaigns. These include the welfare ones above, but also ethical campaigns such as Fairtrade, Environmental and Human Rights and Diversity.  
Be a coordinator for RAG (that’s Raising and Giving), and I hope to make this year the best RAG year yet, raising loads of money for our deserving charities.

Run Union Council , allowing students voices to be heard by making sure it is well publicised and used to it’s full democratic purpose.
I liaise with all the different student support groups in the University and put across students perspectives.

I used to be in the People & Planet society so have plenty of experience running kick ass campaigns and events. I’ll be setting up a campaigns team to make sure that campaigns are eye-catching, inclusive and successful.
 
RAG this year will be a lot of fun, I’m talking to other Uni’s to have a national RAG week and loads of other bonkers stunts!
 
Ah, Union Council….. did you know that this is your chance to hold your Union to account and make it do what you want it to?
 
Last but NOT least I want to set up a Welfare and Equality Committee to represent women’s rights, disabled students, ethnic minorities, LGBT and international students.
