What is RAG?
RAG stands for Raising and Giving and it is our way of getting students
together to raise money for numerous different worthy causes.
At The University of Portsmouth we have divided RAG up into:
- The RAG fund: at the end of the year the RAG
committee allocate this money to various local charities throughout
Hampshire. This could be any thing from hospices to community groups to
conservation!
The Purple Blood Foundation.
Most easily recognised for the purple wrist bands that we have had on
sale in the Union reception, The money raised goes towards aiding the
provision of water sports for disabled and disadvantaged children in
Hampshire. A proportion of the money raised is also allocated to the
Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
- National & International Charities:
We hold many events and projects which are affiliated to large
charities such as Breast Cancer Awareness, the National AIDS Trust or
Oxfam to name a few. The money raised is given directly to these
charities.
How do I get involved?
Getting involved with RAG couldn't be easier. The RAG committee
organises all the RAG events throughout the year. You can either get
invloved with the committee or come along and support the events.
Please come see us in the Student Resource Centre to get involved!
