Tuition fees warning for home & EU students

Last updated: Fri 10th Aug 2007 at 18:19

If you are an undergraduate student this coming year, the University want to make sure you have provided the right tuition fee information to your LEA to avoid any problems when you come to register.

More information

The tuition fee for full-time Home and EU Undergraduate students studying in the 2007/2008 academic year is £3,070.

A number of students have incorrectly stated that the fee will be £3,000 when applying for their student funding; if you have stated that your fee is £3,000, you may experience a problem at registration in October.

Additionally, if you are entitled to a University of Portsmouth bursary, the University will not be able to arrange payment to you until the correct fee is showing on your Student Loans Company student record.

It is therefore essential that you contact your Local Authority immediately to request a re-assessment of your entitlement. You should complete sections 1 and 6 of a CO1 (Change of Circumstances) form, downloadable from the Student Finance Direct website, and send this to your Local Authority.

Additionally, if you have requested a tuition fee loan specifically for £3,000, you should also complete and submit a Tuition Fee Loan Request Form (also downloadable from the Student Finance Direct website) to your Local Authority.

If you need any further assistance, please contact your Local Authority directly who will be able to help you.
