Portsmouth University’s largest diving club ‘PUD’ took the plunge on Saturday to raise hundreds of pounds for charity with an underwater marathon, or divathon as it has since been named!
16 members of PUD undertook the task of completing the 26.4 miles which took just short of three hours (however it may have been slightly quicker if Bruce hadn’t decided to play octopush half way through!)
Everyone completed a minimum of one mile but Mark Shaw decided to complete a massive 2.8 miles of swimming to help us meet the target.
A total of just over £400 was raised for RAG and the RNLI, with Kelvin Lamb raising the most amount of sponsorship money of £125, so congratulations.
A massive thank you must go out to Triton Scuba on Highland Road that made the event possible and also thanks to India Smith who took all the photos.
If you fancy trying scuba diving then why not come a long for a free trial dive. To book your place, email PUD
