The latest on this exciting inter-society event!!!

Following the successful meeting this afternoon the executive decision has been made to alter the date of the Society's Takeover so that more societies will be able to participate in it. So grab your diaries and alter the date to:

Saturday 23rd February 2008!!!

Other decisions made include:

Decor:

in collaboration with the 'One World Week' decorations (see Kat King for more information)

Ticket price:

will be as low as possible and will be on sale very shortly!

Marketing:

all Union media and local media outlets will be used - general consensus was that you can never have enough!

Taskforces:

these were updated - we now have the foundations of a Music Taskforce, Debating Taskforce, Dance Taskforce, Cultural Taskforce and Cultural Taskforce - you can still join in though!

Basic Event Plan:

this was discussed in length and will be finalised in next weeks' meeting but the basic consensus was that in Lux there will be live bands/entertainment, in C02 there will be live DJs, Via Lattea will be used for acoustic music and cultural activities and food and the function rooms will be used for a 'Question Time' style debate and an activities room!

There will be a further meeting next Thursday @ 1pm in Function Room 1 where the event will be discussed again thoroughly and we will also be giving out publicity materials as well as finalising the event's running order. As usual, everybody is welcome so feel free to come along and get involved in any way you want!!!

Remember if you want to get involved, simply get in touch with Ben our Student Activities & Development Officer on: ben.norman@port.ac.uk or just pop into the Sabb Officer and collar him!

Hope to see you there!!!

Luv your Societies Exec Committee -x-x-x-
