Sabbatical Officers' homepage
What is a Sabb?
Sabbatical officers, or "Sabbs", are elected by you - the students - and work at the Students' Union to make sure the Union looks after your needs, represents you as students, and helps you to get the most out of your time at University.
Sabbs are current or just-graduated Pompey students who have won one of the six Sabbatical positions during the Union elections, held in March each year.
What do Sabbs do?
There are six Sabbs, working full-time at the Union, and each one does a different job, but all of them are related to representing and supporting students at the University.
The positions are (from top to bottom)...
- Sports officer
Simon "Darby" Leach

- Activities & Development officer

- Education & Representation officer
Andrew Machin

- President
Elle Gray

- Media & Publications officer
Alex Harries

Why become a Sabb?
Being a Sabb is a great way to get experience in a professional field, with responsibility for looking after the needs of students and the Union; Sabbs represent the students of the University right up to the highest levels of the University.
Any student can run in the Union elections - find out more in the elections mini-site.
