This is probably a good example of why the Union is not doing as well as it used to. Because the University is more interested in other things like Money and A room to house exams for a few days a year than what its really about. An Atmospheric nightclub. Terrible...

So to sum it all up, on a Saturday night when the rest of Portmouth is busy, the Union is providing a club night, with no entry charge, with £1.50 drinks for guaranteed Students only.

If you don't turn up and the night can't be sustained, it'll be a crying shame

Plus there are games and giveaways on stage!

Its an interesting point you've raised about it being free before 11pm last year. Now I very much doubt we can have that back, but it might be possible to have it free before 9/10pm...but DON'T quote me on that ever happening.

Anyway, we have what we have in terms of a building, we can work with it...or we can just not open the SU for events. Which would most students rather?
I believe Kinky offers something you can't get anywhere else in town. Theres something for everyone, be it RnB, House, Indie (pinch of rock), Old-Skool, Creditable Cheese.

The SU is safe, has cheaply priced drinks (£1.50 for VK @ Kinky Saturdays), and DJs that want to offer an amazing night, and not just take the money and run....like many I have seen.

at least when you pay £3 to get into time and envy you are paying to get into an ACTUAL nightclub, not just a doubled up conference room. lasers, wicked lighting, strobes, AMPLE comfortabele seating, balconies, raised dance paltforms etc etc. the union just a big white room.

Many will probably disagree, but I believe that there is no reason why you can't have a good night at the SU just because its different from the 'normal' nightclub environment.

the union is far too bright- no nightclub has white walls for obvious reasons. its makes the union look like a cheap imitation school hall instead of a nightclub, which is why the uion really just isnt that good anymore.

unfortunately they wil not change the colour because the uni wants what used to be a nightclub an exam hall and conference room.
