Hey Becky,

Mixed houses are good (too many girls may get bitchy and too many boys would be messy - sweeping generalisation I know), and the number of people you share with can be important too.

Four to five people is usually good, but there are some lovely 2 bed places around too.

For meeting housemates you can put a notice up on the Student Housing centre notice boards (Nuffield Centre) - or get involved in more stuff at the Union!
Refreshers fayre in Feb is a great chance to join clubs and societies you may have missed at the start of term.

Student Housing will also have lists of properties and rooms in houses, and local rental agencies have their own lists.

Don't worry though, there are a lot of properties in Portsmouth so don't rush!

:)
