Groups / Help / About access types

Members of groups can be promoted to one of eight levels of access, from basic group member up to group owner. When you create a group, you have complete control over your group and can define how members join the group, who can view your group and its contents, and so on.

Group access levels

  • Group member: the basic level of group access. Members can interact with other group members and chat on the group forums, upload pictures and documents, and more (depending on which of these features have been enabled by the group administrators),
  • Group message senders can do everything group members can, and can also send text mass e-mails to all group members,
  • Group membership editors can do everything message senders can, and can also add and remove group members, and approve and reject group memberships,
  • Membership managers can do everything membership editors can, and can also promote and demote members,
  • Group managers can do everything membership managers can, and can also publish and unpublish the group, making it invisible to non-members,
  • Group administrators can do everything group managers can, and can also delete the group,
  • The group owner can do everything group admins can, and can re-assign the group to different categories and parents.
