Services for employers
The majority of students will undertake some form of employment while
they are studying at university to help with their finances. We enable
a large number of students each year to find work during term-time and
vacations.
About
The Job Shop has been established many years and assists employers by advertising part-time and vacation employment directly to students. The service is managed by a full-time student employment professional and is continually extending the range of employment opportunities on offer to students.
Benefits for you
The Job Shop service offers you direct contact with students who are
actively looking for work. The range of employment opportunities we
offer to students include part-time, casual, and temporary work through
to full-time vacation employment.
The type of vacancies are as diverse as Customer Service, Call Centre,
Retail, Bar, Catering, Care Work, Administration, Marketing and
Hospitality. Many students are also looking to gain experience for
their course which will offer them additional skills when looking for
employment after they have completed their course.
Vacancies are primarily advertised within the Portsmouth and Southsea area, but are also distributed throughout surrounding areas.
How we advertise
Vacancies are advertised on the Job Shop noticeboards, website and in the Employment Bulletin. The service offered by the Job Shop can be tailored to your requirements, dealing not only with the advertising of vacancies but also events throughout the term where employers can attend and discuss their vacancies directly with students.
