Being a Good Neighbour

Good Neighbourliness

It's easy to be a good neighbour and doesn't really take much effort on your part! It can be as simple as popping next door when you move in and saying hi. If you leave a contact number with your neighbours then they will usually feel a lot more confident about getting in touch with you if they are having any problems.

Being respectful can go a long way, so let your neighbours know if you're planning on having a house party or lots of people round one night. Remember if your neighbours aren't students then they probably won't be heading out every Monday and Tuesday....and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as well! A lot of your neighbours might need to get up for work at 9am or earlier sometimes, so shouting outside at 2 in the morning isn't always appreciated! A good rule of thumb is to think about what you'd put up with if you had an exam first thing in the morning, and then keep that in mind.
