Grad Ball: ticket sales - the facts

Last updated: Wed 16th May 2007 at 22:34

Grad Ball 2007To answer some of the most common questions posed to the Union by students after Grad Ball tickets sold out, we have put together some information to clarify how tickets have been allocated, and how you can get onto the reserve tickets list.

"The Graduation packs were sent to all Graduates in the first week of Easter. This mailing was administered through the University.

"The deadline to return to us was the 27th April. Any remaining tickets would go on general sale on 2nd May. Tickets were limited to two per Graduate, allowing each graduate to bring a partner.

"This year the response was unusually high therefore not leaving any tickets for general sale.

"The Graduation Ball does not make a profit and has to be budgeted to break even due to the Unions charity status. There is no venue in Portsmouth that can take more people than the Union – including the Guildhall.

"At this stage we still need you to return your Graduation Pack request as we will be allocating cancelled or returned tickets on that basis.

"Bring your completed form to the Union reception between 9am and 2pm. Your form will be dated, timed and then added to the list.

"We will be contacting everyone on the list in the middle of June to update you on the ticket situation. Unfortunately this will not guarantee you a ticket."
