DIUS launch new student finance campaign
The Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) have launched an advertising campaign aimed at highlighting the financial support available to new students.
The campaign is designed to encourage potential students to attend university by demonstrating the financial support available to them. New financial arrangements show that potentially, a larger number of students will be eligible for a full maintenance grant because of a threshold increase.
The government projection for this arrangement shows that two thirds of new students will also be able to claim a partial grant due to the significant increase of the upper limit of the income scale for support eligibility. This is to allow the burden on students’ finances to be eased.
Any increase to financial support available to students is welcomed as many students are facing crippling debts. However, these proposals will require further investigation to determine the overall effect on the student populous.
The advertising campaign will commence on November the 5th
