PROCEDURE FOR NOMINATION
- Each club member that feels they are eligible for an award should submit an application to their club.
- Each
club should set up a committee (minimum 4 members including club
president, captains etc.), through which each nomination should be
discussed and approved or rejected. A representative from the Athletic
Union can input into this process for clubs if requested.
- Each
club will look to approve/ reject individual club members colours
nominations based around the general guidelines and criteria for the
awards as outlined in this document.
- This committee will
confirm that the information on the individuals form is correct and
that the club is supporting the application. They must then
countersign the nomination. The Committee will therefore be able to
comment, without the nominee seeing these comments. All forms whether
supported by the club or not will be submitted to the Athletic Union
Colours Committee, and where a club has objected to a nomination they
must justify why this is the case.
- Where a coach is
working with a club, the coach’s comments where applicable will be
sought to provide additional information to help assess the
application. Again these comments will be added once the individuals
form has been submitted to the club. Some coaches may wish to comment
without the club seeing these comments and these wishes should be
respected.
- The form is then handed to the Athletic Union,
who will vet the forms prior to their submission to the Athletic Union
Colours Committee.
