The University's student housing service offer some tips on being a considerate neighbour as spring and summer bring us better barbecue and party weather.
As the weather is now hopefully going to start to get warmer you will probably be planning to spend more time outside, perhaps having the odd barbeque or two!
If you are outside having a BBQ in the evenings or just sitting outside with friends please continue to be considerate of those living around you.
Many people sleep with their windows open as the weather becomes warmer which means that they will be disturbed by people out in the street or in their gardens.
If you are planning on having friends round please let your neighbours know and agree a time when you will finish. Please ask your guests to leave quietly and do not slam doors/taxi doors.
If your neighbours do ask you to keep noise levels down then please respond politely so everyone can enjoy being part of the community and the warmer evenings.
For more information on housing and being a good neighbour in Portsmouth, please see the University's student housing website.
