Portsmouth is set to receive new funds to combat antisocial behaviour in young people.
The city is one of 69 local authorities that stands to receive nearly £800,000 from the government over the next three years to combat the problem.
Council and police leaders anticipate using the funds to conquer underage drinking and related problems amongst the area that most need it.
Councillor for children and young people Alistair Thompson stated that: "It's good news. My only concern is that it is spent in the correct way. I hope that it is spent on early intervention projects which prevent young people falling in to a life of crime."
