We've just made things simpler! For all of you who want to join a club or society before term starts or even when you come back at 3am having been out with some of the coolest committee members from our activities we've released a new payment system for you to use.
Unlike last year the Athletic Union has individual prices for each of the clubs, this includes your insurance and mostly covers fees for running the activities such as facility hire and equipment purchases. New this year is societies can be joined online using the same system and our societies start at just £3.40 to join - providing something for everyone.
What do you need to do? Simple follow these easy steps and you'll be a member in no time:
Once you're done you should recieve an e-mail from webmaster@upsu.net with your reciept. Keep this as it shows you've paid. Now sit back and relax.
Our shiney new system allows committee members to login daily and download a list of your e-mail address and phone numbers so they can let you know how to get further involved. If you don't hear anything drop them an e-mail, all contact details are on the website, and failing that pop in and see the sports or societies officer who will help you reach them.

Our Amnesty International at the University of Portsmouth (AIUP) society has recently won an award for best fundraising event by Amnesty International UK.
AIUP ran two very successful jAmnesty events during the year which helped raise £744.92 for Amnesty International.
Amnesty International campaign against human rights abuses around the world and the money raised will be going to help out those suffering from and fighting against human rights abuses.
The Best Fundraising Event is only one of four awards given by AIUK to student fundraisers and is a fantastic achievement for the society who have only formed in this past year and adds to their recent success at the Activites Awards Dinner where they won Best New Activity.
For more information about AIUP or to find out how to get involved, you can contact them at amnestyint@upsu.net

Portsmouth Students’ Union has a vision of creating a positive impact with every Portsmouth student during their time at University.
As a charity led by our values and guided by our students, we do this by providing wide-ranging services and learner support to the 20,000 students of the University of Portsmouth.
The Union is based in the centre of Portsmouth and turns over £1.5M per annum, employing approximately 60 staff.
As part of UPSU's strategy we are looking to expand the quality of the activities and services we offer to our students.
To support this we are creating 2 new positions; a Student Activities Manager to manage the Student Activities Department and Centre as well as a new Student Media Coordinator to help aid the development of all student media outlets.
To find out more visit upsu.net/jobs or further information contact Daniel Palmer, Chief Executive on daniel.palmer@upsu.net or 023 9284 3666.
