NUS Extra: what information of mine do you send to the NUS?
The NUS Extra card issue process requires us to tell the NUS your e-mail address and the NUS card number assigned to your e-mail address.
This information is required so that you can then sign into your account on the NUS Extra website and maintain your preferences, including what e-mail lists belonging to the NUS you are signed up to.
When does this happen?
If you select an NUS Extra card when you register at upsu.net/registration/register, we will send your e-mail address and details of any NUS mailing list preferences (selected in the "keeping you informed" screen) to the NUS to allow them to activate your NUS card.
Note that your information will only be sent to the NUS after you have purchased your NUS card - if you don't purchase an NUS Extra card, your details will not be used.
What will the NUS do with my information?
- The NUS will not distribute or sell your e-mail address to any third party company.
- The NUS will only send you e-mails if you have explicitly agreed to receive them, either through the NUS sign up procedure on UPSU.net (when you sign up for an NUS card), or by "opting in" to the mailing lists by signing in to your NUS Extra account at nusextra.co.uk.
- You can opt out of e-mail communications from the NUS at any time by signing in to your NUS account at nusextra.co.uk using your registered e-mail address.
