I'm pleased to announce that the first instalment is out now in the Union and will be around campus very soon! I'd like to thank all the contributors for their massive efforts this month

The online version will also be live in the next few days. Massive thanks to Alex H for helping out and creating the online version.

The next issue will be out in a couple of weeks.

Friday is the big day, we're going up to London to see whether we have won the award for Best Student Mag in the country, so watch this space!!!!!

Directory me up!

The branding spank new Union directory that's never been done before has now gone to print and some of us can get some sleep! Especially Mike, who's been kicking arse day and night! The Directory will hold all information about the Union and more, so if you need to find out about anything we do just pick a copy up and it will tell you, anything from filling ECF forms in to dressing up as a pirate!

They will be back in time for freshers' so keep a look out, the cover looks like it does in the pic to the right of this post!

Hope you've all had a good summer and expect to see loads of ya around the onion in a couple of weeks!

A few stats

Was just working out the stats for the website and they are quite impressive! Have a look:

• On average the site has had 1.7million page impressions monthly

• The most page impressions came in the months of October 2005 and March 2006 with 2.2million and 2million page impressions respectively

• The most popular part of the website is the social life section

Thought I'd post as it's been donkeys since I last posted a diary entry.

Well its the summer and its all systems go at the moment in the office. All of us are kicking some arse and getting loads of new and exciting things going on for the coming year.

I've mainly been working on the website polishing it up contentwise, as Alex is Mr Technical himself! I've worked on the Netball Homepage and will be using it as an example of what can be done to socities and clubs. So if you have a snoop and see the benefits of having your mini-site within ours. It's not all finished but you should get the rough idea.

I'm also working on the Sabbs Homepage . The whole point of this is to have a good way of communicating with you guys what we're up to in the office. And also a way for you to comment on what we're doing if you're not around to come to Union Council.

Other projects I'll be working on over the coming few weeks include:

Pompey Guide
Pugwash Online
Purple Wednesdays redesign (again!)
NUS Mini-site
Sports & Socs online homepages
....plus many many other crazy little odd jobs they can find for me!

The work you've all done this year has been amazing and we have never entered for so many different categories so fingers crossed and we should know whether we have been nominated by September and the results will be in November, so a nice long wait to see what happens!

Coming to an end!

Well, the year is coming to a close and I'd like to wish all of you the very best of luck in exams and if you're leaving La Costa Del Pompey this year then all the best in the future! Its been an amazing year for the Union charity. We've had event after event (boxing, societies carnival, AU Dinner, VIP Dinner to name a few....) So well done to everyone that helped out organising these events.
And a massive good bye and all the best to the sabbaticals that are leaving this year, Danny Parkinson, Lynsey Hayward & Chileya Kasuba, you guys were awesome to work with and we'll all miss you sop all the best!

So what now?

Well, first things first is entering Pugwash for the student media awards. I've already entered this beautiful site and will also be entering Purple Wednesdays (could you imagine if we win!) Over the summer we will be planning for a bigger and better year!

So to end this............HAVE A GOOD SUMMER!
