Tell us a bit about yourself

Hello Pompey! I’m Alex, and I’m the Union’s elected big-mouth for the year. I’ve just graduated from Pompey after five years of slacking off studying, studying eCommerce & Internet Systems - a BSc (Hons) in being a geek ;o).

I’ve worked at the Union since I arrived here, and have done everything from bar tending (badly) to sound engineering, building the Union’s website UPSU.net, and even a tiny bit of DJing.

What does your role cover?

My job here is to make sure the Union lets you know everything that’s happening through our wide range of media - from Pugwash magazine and the Pompey Guide, the Union’s new fortnightly newspaper, on air at Pure FM, and online at UPSU.net.

Every area of UPSU Media is made by students, for students, so whether you want to try your hand at writing, designing, journalism, radio presenting, DJing, or any one of the hundreds of other jobs UPSU Media can’t survive without, come and speak to me any time during the year!

What do you want to achieve this year?

More than ever, I want UPSU Media to pull all of its areas together to put out high quality, content-rich student-led content, created by students, and I want every single student who’s involved with UPSU Media to gain some great experience and have a great time being part of the team.
