ACADEMIC ADVICE An update to current academic advice was issued at 11:03 7/01/2010 - All deadlines for the submission of coursework should be revised to Friday 15th January 2010. This means that any coursework assesments that were due on 6th January through to 14th January inclusive will now have a deadline of 15th January. Any student who wants to re-submit a coursework assessment they have already submitted and that was due on these dates (i.e. 6th January to 14th January inclusive) will be allowed to do so. - All other forms of assessment that were due to be taken between 6th January and 11th January inclusive should have a deferral automatically set if the student has missed the assessment for any reason. - Students will not have to submit ECFs in order for the actions at 1 and 2 above to be taken - these actions will automatically apply. - Students worried about placements should contact their departments for answers to any queries about this but should not do so until the University re-opens. - Students should keep checking the website at www.port.ac.uk/snow or upsu.net/snow for further information but are requested not to contact the Academic Registrar directly on these matters as he cannot answer the volume of emails or many of the detailed queries being raised. Students should contact their department directly once it has reopened if they have any questions regarding assessment. For further information and advice on the ECF process you should contact the Union's Education and Representation Officer on 02392 84 3634 once the snow has passed. |
