It's a seaside city with all the charm and personality you could ever hope for. There's so much to see in Portsmouth, so here's just a few of the places you should visit when you get a chance.
Gunwharf Quays is the perfect place to grab yourself a designer bargain or enjoy a meal with a view. Located next to the harbour with the city's iconic Spinnaker Tower at it's heart, this isn't a place to be missed and is easy to get to from the main University campus!
2. The beach
One of the best things about Portsmouth is that no matter where you are, you're never far from the beach. Breathing in the sea air is a great way to relax and take your mind off the stresses life can bring. It's also a fantastic place to meet friends, go for a run or take family when they come to visit!
Save up your spare change and see what you can win at the arcades! It's easy to spend a few hours playing games or trying to beat your friends at ice hockey.
Southsea high-street, Elm Grove and Albert Road are all home to quirky shops, bars and restaurants that you could spend hours exploring.
5. Castle Road
Fun fact: Castle Road is one of the only places in the city that holds it's own yearly festival, despite being home to only a handful of shops and restaurants!
The charming street can be found just off Southsea's Elm Grove - make sure to check it out if you're after a vintage buy or just a look around.
