What to expect from Freshers’ Fayre 2018

Freshers' Fayre is on Wednesday 19th September from 10am - 7pm at the Students' Union, Gun House Green and Ravelin Park, showcasing all the opportunities your Union has to offer.

Freshers' Fayre is bursting at the seams with excitement and opportunities, here's what to expect on the day from one of the biggest events of the student year.

Student Groups

Get involved! With over 100 different clubs and societies Freshers Fayre is a great place to start your time at University. From faith to cultural groups, common interests student media and on top of that sports clubs, there's bound to be something for everyone. Join one, or as many as your time table will allow and develop your skills and have some fun. If we're missing something you can always create and grow your own society from our skilled and passionate Union staff. 

Freebies

Our official partners, Dominos are handing out free pizza to all of our students who are attending Freshers Fayre. Get yourself a slice and check out our partners' stalls who are offering exclusive freebies alongside student discounts to all our students. 

Calm Corner

Our Advice Service this Freshers Fayre will be launching our Calm Corner. For those students who may feel overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the Fayre, the service within the Student Advice Centre on the ground floor of Gun House will offer a peaceful space to receive information about the Union. 

Student Opportunities

From student groups to student deals, at our Freshers' Fayre there is so much to get involved with. Our Student Focus team will also be there, showing you ways that you can make a change within the student experience. From Course Reps to Sabbatical Officers and even our brand new Student Networks which work to create a community for under represented groups within the student experience, there are loads of different ways to get involved and make a difference. 

The Union Shop

Our shop will be open for business as normal! Throughout Freshers' Fayre come along to the shop and grab yourself a classic hoodie or even a Totum card for exclusive student discounts nationwide. If you're already enjoying the excitement of the fayre, then good news - our pop-up shop will also be on Gun House Green with a range of our official Union merchandise. 

Live music

We've even got the playlist covered across Freshers' Fayre, courtesy of the Astoria! With two stages situated on Gun House Green and Ravelin Park, there's plenty to celebrate. 

Your Sabbs

Violet, George, Charlotte, Sophie and Moises are your Sabbatical Officers, elected to represent key areas of the student experience. Get to know your Sabb team across Freshers' week and the rest of the year as they work to enhance your academic journey.
