Autumn 2018 will see the opening of the University of Portsmouth's new Eye Clinic, offering free eye tests for staff, students, alumni and the local community.
The clinic will offer a comprehensive range of eye examinations and care using the latest equipment and techniques that include:
- Comprehensive eye examinations undertaken by UoP optometry students, with all findings checked by a qualified experienced optometrist.
- Contact lens assessment
- 3D OCT evaluations, useful in the diagnosis and monitoring of eye conditions such as age related macular degeneration, glaucoma and the ocular effects of diabetes.
- Specialist paediatric and binocular vision clinics.
- Visual stress testing
- Care for visual impairment and occupational vision assessments.
The Clinic will be staffed by fully qualified optometrists, who will supervise UoP second and third year optometry students in the provision of eye examinations and supporting care, helping them to gain the essential clinical experience to qualify as a registered optometrist.
We will offer a range of glasses and contact lenses at affordable prices and the clinic's customers/patients are very welcome to fulfil their prescription at a highstreet provider.
Register to become a patient at the University of Portsmouth Eye Clinic by visiting go.port.ac.uk/eyeclinic.
