VP Activities, Moises Frias, and VP Welfare and Community, Sophie Butler, held a social mixer as part of Black History Month.
Students came together at the Black History Month social mixer to celebrate the diverse range of cultures at the University and as a chance to reflect on black history.
The social mixer was hosted by VP Activities, Moises Frias and and VP Welfare and Community, Sophie Butler.
The event kicked off with a 'Changing Mindsets' talk by academic, Dr. Jessica Gagnon, and was followed by a quiz organised by Sophie. The quiz which included questions on black history, famous faces and general knowledge.
The event concluded with a networking session and the announcement of the quiz winner.
Moises and Sophie received positive feedback from the students who attended and were asked whether another event of it's type would be taking place in the future.
Moises said: "We couldn't be happier with the turnout for this event and hope it made a difference to those who attended.
"We will look into putting on another social mixer in the future. In the meantime, we would encourage students to find out more about our Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority (BAME) Network here."
