VP Sport stepping down
Staff at the University of Portsmouth Students’ Union are bidding an early farewell to Vice President of Sport, Phil Samuel.
Phil, who was elected in March, is unfortunately stepping down due to personal circumstances and will be leaving UPSU this week.
The Sabbatical Team will share Phil’s responsibilities and ensure students are supported whilst UPSU review their options moving forward for the role. More details will follow in due course.
Helena Schofield, incoming President at Portsmouth Students’ Union, said:
“Naturally we’re disappointed that Phil has had to take the difficult decision to step down from his role in the knowledge that he would’ve been a fantastic member of the team. We’re sure his passion, determination and work ethic will stand him in good stead wherever his next adventure may be and wish him all the best.”
“It is with great sadness that I will be leaving my position at Portsmouth Students’ Union due to personal circumstances. I have only been at UPSU a short time but already I can see the incoming Sabbatical team are incredibly passionate and talented and I’m sure will be a great asset to the organisation and students next year. I wish them all the best in the challenges ahead.”
UPSU wish Phil the best of luck in his new challenge.
