National Student Survey

Portsmouth Students’ Union ranked top five in the region for student satisfaction

It is encouraging to see that The University of Portsmouth Students’ Union (UPSU), continue to perform well in NSS, maintaining its position as the 4th best ranked amongst Southern Unions. Despite the challenging times currently being experienced in the education sector, UPSU also rose a place to 5th amongst its 11 closest national competitors.

The National Student Survey (NSS) is an annual survey of all final year undergraduates in the UK, with students providing feedback about their time at university. As well as looking at students experience at their universities, the survey also details how the Students’ Union has supported academic experience.

Helena Schofield, UPSU President, said: "We know one of the most important things to students at the University of Portsmouth is getting a good degree, which is why the Students' Union is dedicated to providing academic support whenever a student might need it.

“UPSU has continued to develop its academic support, including building upon the success of previous Stressless campaigns. The Advice Service continues to also provide representation to students, with 622 guidance sessions attributed for 2019.

"Ensuring our students have a positive academic experience is at the forefront of everything we do, which is why we have already begun work on building partnerships with key stakeholders and developing exciting projects to launch in the new academic year.

"We are looking forward to working closely with the university this year to ensure we're jointly providing the best possible academic experience for our students."
