As a kid I loved X-Men. I think it’s a really good example of strong female characters and they’re fairly equal in terms of male to female. Every kid wants to become a superhero and imagine themselves with powers. As I grew older I started to look at other female characters and I sort of latched onto Wonder Woman. Her character is really great. She works behind a desk during the day but at night she’s this powerful, strong character that can do anything and take on anyone. That drew me to her. A lot of comic book writers are male so when it comes to female characters they’re scantily clad, not particularly strong and often don’t have as many powers as male characters, but she’s got it all. The writer of Wonder Woman was quite a feminist really, he wanted to create a powerful female character.
