The Langstone beach was my safe haven in first year. I went there to reflect when things got hard. I remember looking at these little plants that were by the beach, they weren’t fully developed and they had these little plastic things around them. It was like God telling me, ‘This is you. You’re not there, you’re not fully grown, you’re not where you expect to be but you’re still going where you need to be going.’ A few months later I came back and the plants looked beautiful. It was towards the time that I was growing and learning new things. You know these plants, all sorts of conditions affect them. There’s the wind, the waters, everything. But if you stand still and stay rooted, you’ll be fine. Everything will sort itself out.
