This workshop offers an introduction to the concepts of the compassionate mind. Armed with this understanding, you will be able to benefit from its application in many areas of your life, like building positive relationships, increasing emotional resilience and conscientiousness, and feeling more optimistic. The aim of these workshops is to teach an understanding of the theory behind self-compassion and to introduce and practice some self-compassion techniques to help you to thrive both personally and academically. Understanding why it is good to replace counterproductive self-criticism and self-judgement with greater tolerance, kindness and self-compassion will help you to realise what is really holding you back and support you in stepping out of the vicious cycle of self-judgement.
