PhD creative writing students Marco BiceciMolly Burns and Maddie Wallace, and creative writing third year undergraduate Andrew Larder, will reflect on the plight of displaced peoples around the world. With Amnesty reporting the current number of refugees at 25.4 million, there has never been a more pertinent time to highlight the human plight and suffering of so many people from war-torn countries, oppressive regimes and persecution.

The performances will focus on voices of displaced persons, and how these can be represented through creative writing and drama, to promote awareness of the conditions millions of people have to suffer. Inspired by Journeys Festival International, each piece is underpinned by research into the emotional and physical journey of refugees and asylum seekers.
